We're a small country church with great passion to grow in our faith by experiencing Christ in the Holy Mass and Sacraments, handed down to us from Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture. We are called to share the joy this brings us with a world in great need of hope.
Message from Fr. Ron re: Pope Francis
Dear Parishioners of St. Catherine, With sorrow and with hope in the Resurrection, I share the news that our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has passed away. Moments like this remind us that the Church is not merely an institution, but a living Body... the Body of Christ... a family of faith spread across the world and across time. And when a member of the family dies—especially our Holy Father—we respond as Christians always do... with prayer. We pray for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis, that he may rest in the peace of Christ, whom he served as the Vicar on Earth. We entrust him to the mercy of God and pray that he will be welcomed into the eternal joy of heaven. We also pray for the whole Church in this time of transition... that we may remain faithful to Christ, steadfast in mission, and rooted in the joy of the Gospel that Pope Francis so often proclaimed. And we pray for the Cardinals who will gather in conclave to elect the next successor of St. Peter. May the Holy Spirit guide them to choose a shepherd with the heart of a father... the courage of an apostle... and the fire of the Spirit. May the next pope lead us with wisdom, holiness, and zeal. Let us be united in prayer... in mourning... and in hope... because we are one Church, one family, and one Body in Christ. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
